John McLaurin II, here treated, who is said to have been killed at the Battle of Culloden, is not the same person as Reverend John Maclaurin, Minister of the Gospel at St. David's Church in Glasgow. It follows, therefore, that he cannot be the son of the Reverend John Maclaurin, Minister of the Gospel at Kilmidan, and his wife Mary Cameron, and should be disconnected from their family tree.
